Romaine Wrap-n-Rolls
Makes 2 serving(s)
WHAT'S IN IT?
2 tablespoons light mayonnaise
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Pinch of dried tarragon leaves (if you like!)
4 large romaine lettuce leaves, tough part of each stem pinched off
4 (1-ounce*) slices or 8 (1/2-ounce) slices roasted turkey breast meat
4 (1-ounce) slices or 8 (1/2-ounce) slices Swiss cheese
STUFF YOU NEED
Small bowl
Small spoon
Measuring spoons
Cutting board
Butter knife
Plastic wrap
HOW TO PUT IT TOGETHER
- In a small bowl, use a small spoon to swirl together the mayonnaise, pepper and dried tarragon, if using.
- Place lettuce leaves cupped side up and root end toward you on a cutting board. These are your wrappers!
- Evenly divide the turkey slices onto each leaf.
- With a butter knife, evenly spread the turkey tops with the mayonnaise mixture.
- Then, onto each, evenly divide the cheese slices.
- One at a time, starting at the root end, roll up each filled leaf.
- Wrap each Roll tightly in plastic wrap! Take two for lunchtime!
* TIP: If you're not sure how much your slices of turkey or Swiss cheese weigh, here's what you can do: If the turkey or cheese comes from a package, check the Nutrition Facts label found there to see if it lists how much a slice weighs. If it's from the deli, you can weigh the slices on a kitchen scale. If all else fails, ask an adult for help!
